Goody Bags

Hello! Hope you all had a fun and safe holiday weekend!!! We did! Tiger baseball with my hubby on Saturday night, a visit to my parents in Michigan's Thumb yesterday and we cleaned and packed some things for Chicago today.

Before the game on Saturday, I worked on goody bags for my daughter's bachelorette party. I know that the bridal party usually throws the party but everyone wanted to go to the Tiger game for the party and since her girl's are college students...I thought I'd help them out and pay for the goody bags. Everyone is super excited to go on this coming Saturday. My daughter got her bridal party a tote bag with a Tiger shirt inside with orange flip flops to wear to the game. (Tiger colors are navy and orange and white). I got my daughter a Bride t-shirt, a bride hat, veil, orange feather boa and a genuine MLB baseball for autographs. Here's a look at the goody bags...

A shot of my daughter's bag.

In the bags for the everyone...candy bracelets with a candy heart charm, light up LED rings, hand sanitizer, sunscreen, lip gloss and beads in orange and blue to wear to the game.

After the game, the girls are coming back for snacks and cake. Some of the bridesmaids will spend the night, too. I will take pics of the big party day!

Have a great night!

Hugs!

Thank Yous

Thank you all so very much for your thoughts and prayers concerning my cousin's death. She will be missed!

Speaking of thank yous...the wedding favors arrived yesterday...Farkle games in the wedding color. My daughter and her fiance love to play games so what better favor than a little game.  I tied all the bows on yesterday. Today, I'll be putting names on tags...these will, also, serve as seat cards.

I can hardly believe how fast the big day is coming! Only 25 more days! So, needless to say, I will be busy with the final details...seating chart, table numbers (I'll show you soon!), paying vendors, giving the baker the number of each flavor of cake we'd like, fittings, suit pick ups and on and on. BUT I am soaking it all in! It will be over before you know it!

Hope you all have a great day...I'm actually off to do non-wedding things...dry cleaners and garden weeding...YUCK!

Hugs!

Sad News

(Picture taken at Comerica Park in June 2010)

We received such sad news yesterday...my cousin has been found...she has passed away. She was terribly depressed from both losing her daughter in a house fire (Dec. 2009) and from post partum depression. She overdosed and was taken to a local hospital in Detroit (I won't share the hospitals name because I feel they made an awful mistake). The hospital had her identification and failed to call her parents. They released her to the morgue and a WEEK later the morgue got around to calling her parents! I'm just sick about it! She leaves behind her 2 beautiful boys, one is 3 and one is 5 months, her parents, a loving/best friend of a brother and her sister.

Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers. It has meant so much to our family. Please continue to pray for them. Her brother is heartbroken and misses his best friend and his niece so very much.

You all are the best!

Hugs!

Where Dreams Come True

Wishing this morning that I was waking up here, the happiest place on earth. Today is not too happy. My cousin's daughter, she's in her 20's, is missing. I haven't seen her in quite a few years but have so many memories of her as a little girl. I dressed her for her baptism, my favorite memory. She has had a rough year, her daughter died in a house fire, she hasn't been making great choices in her life, she had a baby soon after her daughter died...I can only imagine how she must be feeling. She was upset and just walked away and no one has seen her in 2 days. The police are looking for her, as well as friends and family. Please say a little prayer for her and that she comes home safely.

Thank you all for your love and support this week!
Hugs!!

Bridal Shower Decor

Morning! Well, let's see if I get more comments today. I'm wondering if it isn't time to delete the blog. I'm certainly not one of the popular blogs out there...hmmm....I like blogging and visiting blogs, I don't always comment myself. Hmmm....on to happier things...

Here are some photos from the bridal shower...

My living room. The banner is hard to read because it is glossy and glittery...
it says...ADAM on the top and COURTNEY on the bottom.

A view from the eating area into the living room.
The pompoms were easy to make.

A shot of one of the centerpieces and the M&M jar.
The jar was the prize for the ice breaker game.

My daughter all dressed up by her bridesmaids.
A friend of hers made the big roses out of the
tissue paper from the gifts. She is using this for
her rehearsal bouquet and veil.

Hope you all have a great day!!!

Bridal Shower Game

Morning!

I had a little free time this morning so I wanted to start posting some of the pre-wedding things. This is the Ice Breaker game I used for the bridal shower that I gave my daughter. It was so much fun, the guests really enjoyed it.

This is page one.
(Click on photos to enlarge)

Some of the supplies I used to make the flowers.

The flowers are white and can be found at Michael's.
I used a sponge and stamp pad to color
the flowers and added a sticky rhinestone to the centers.

This is the last page announcing who the winner is.
The winner won a jar of orange M&M's. (I'll show you the jars soon!)

The completed book. I made one for each table of guests.
~~~~~
Less than 6 weeks to go now until the big day. I will try to catch up on the pre-wedding festivities this week. I am finally almost done sending things from the house to our apartment in Chicago. I will send dishes and pots and pans this week. We will use paper plates and the old pots and pans from the apartment until the wedding. We move the week after the wedding...talk about stress! I know you'll be tired of me saying that! BUT I've been making sure to take time away from the wedding prep and moving prep to do some fun things, like dinner with girlfriends who I will miss so much! Sigh! That takes away stress and helps me to keep going without getting overwhelmed.
I hope you're having a great Monday!
My Patio and a Little Emma Love
Hello! I wanted to show you my Chicago patio. It is very small and the cement was green with moss so I decided it was time to make it over and add a little square footage to our spring/summer/fall living space. I found this cute wicker chair/table set and indoor/outdoor rug at Target. I wish I had a before picture to go with my after but my hubby started the makeover before I came to visit. I bought some hanging baskets and they are now up and I plan to get a new potted flower to put where the shown hanging basket now sits. I am so happy with the makeover. I now leave the patio door open and Emma loves to be able to walk out there whenever she pleases. Hubby put up a baby gate so she can't escape. I will be sad when winter arrives and I lose this pretty space until spring. Enjoy the photos and Emma love!
Emma loves sitting in the chairs. She's sending you bully kisses...see her tongue? LOL!
One more of Emma with a cuter look on her face.
The complete set. Love it.
Ok, back to laundry and packing! Enjoy your day!
