Found It!!!

I've been busy, busy finding this and that for my daughter's upcoming bridal shower. The wedding sort of has a natural feel to it so when my daughter saw these favors boxes (pictured below) at Michael's we knew these were the perfect ones.

We found the perfect favor to place inside...100% pure beeswax candles (pictured here at www.CandleshopCreations.com). My daughter's friend's parents own a honey farm here in MI and her sister uses the beeswax to make candles. Perfect! They are very cute and 2 will fit in each box.

Now, the ribbon was harder to find! I searched for hours in stores and online and finally found this ribbon. I found it at dunwoody booth packaging Orange colored jute, earth friendly ribbon!!! Hurray!!! Now I just need to order and receive the ribbon then assemble! Woo hoo!

I will post photos when they're done! Hope you've had a great weekend!

Hugs!

Just For Fun

Go to urbandictionary.com (overlook the nasty definitions...I chose a clean one!) and type in your first name then post your name's definition...

Kimberly:

A sweet compassionate girl that finds the beauty in everything. She is always willing to give a helping hand. Everyone loves her as soon as they meet her. Tends to be very sexy and confident.

In other news...nothing too exciting...came back to Chicago with my hubby this week...Emma and I are just chilling out and taking a breather from all the hectic-ness that has been our life lately.

Hope all is well!!!

Trying to Keep Up

Hi all! Sorry no pics to share this time. I am just trying to keep up! We have 2 maybe 3 major life changing events happening all at once and we found out all about them in the same week. First, we find out that our daughter is getting married (happy dance!!!) and with that came the realization that I could move to Chicago full-time and they could take care of our home in Michigan (and they agreed to live here and be our care takers, hurray!). Then we find out...there is a chance to move out of the country for hubby's job, possibly soon. God's timing...not ours!

So...I am balancing wedding plans...donating anything we really don't need...packing what I know we can fit in our tiny 63o sq. ft. apartment...ordering my certified birth certificate...ordering a passport...researching different countries...and on and on....

I have sooo much to do in 6 months...yikes...I think I can!

All the while...all these crafty ideas are spinning through my head like sugar plums at Christmas. I have so many things I know I want to make for the bridal shower and so many things that I think would be nice for the apartment. Hopefully, one day soon, I can relax enough to actually work on something pretty.

Thank you all for your sweet comments on the engagement party. It was so much fun and I'm so glad I kept it relatively simple. Looking forward to showing you something soon!

Hugs to my sweet friends!

Happenings

Hi all! I know it has been forever! We have been oh so busy planning my daughter's wedding. They got engaged on December 5, 2009 and decided on a July wedding...not much time to get it all done! Sooo...I've been BUSY!!! Here are some of the engagement happening photos...

These were not professionally done but still nice.

The decor for the engagement party. I took 4 bouquets from Costco and 4 oranges and made 7 arrangements. Not too bad!

My girlfriend, whom I've known since kindergarten made the cakes. One was lemon with cream cheese frosting, one had a fruit top and filling, one was chocolate with a chocolate chunk filling and one was yellow with raspberry filling and butter cream frosting...YUMMY!!!

I made it easy on myself and had most of the engagement party catered. Yummy!
Other than wedding planning, we have painted the dining room a dark brown, reupholstered the kitchen chairs, purged the first floor of clutter and unused items, donated a ton to the Salvation Army and I have started moving things to Chicago. I will be moving there with my hubby (finally) in July. The new married couple will be our caretakers until we are able to sell the house in a couple years. (It is still way too low in price to sell now).
I have been lurking around blog world too. I will see if I can keep up with blogging more regularly. Hope you're still out there reading my posts!
Hugs!

OMG!!!

OMG!!! I feel like I'm running a race but the gun went off and I didn't hear it...now I'm a lap behind! It's for a very good reason though...my daughter got ENGAGED on Saturday!!! Pictures to come! Not only did she get engaged but the wedding is in 7-8 months depending on when/where we can get a reception site. So OMG I'm already behind on this one! Everything needs to get worked on ASAP! I have lots of crafty plans in my head for the engagement party, shower and wedding. Pictures to come with the progress!

I'll be back soon I hope to keep you updated and to show you pictures!

Snippets of Christmas

Morning! I am sloooowly getting better and sloooowly pulling things out of Christmas boxes and decorating. I went to the doctor yesterday and I have bronchitis which is sticking around because my thyroid levels are so low that I'm having a hard time fighting it off. Sooo...this year I am not decorating as much as in years past, I just don't have the energy right now. I'd, also, like to thank everyone for their prayers and concern...you are the bestest!

Here are some snippets of what I have done...

A gift from my daughter, her boyfriend and my hubby last year. I LOVE it!

A little berry tree in the dining room.

From the tree in the family room.

We brought a little Mickey Christmas home with us.

Sparkly Santa, he makes me smile.
Today, I will decorate the last tree and try to put away some of the boxes. Tomorrow, I hope to bake some cookies for hubby's work party. I hope you're having a great time getting ready for Christmas!

Just Plain Sick

Just plain sick and tired of being sick and tired. Hope to be back sooner rather than later with a good update but tomorrow I plan to visit the doctor. Ugh! This just isn't the season to be sick and tired of being sick and tired!

Hope you all are having a great time getting ready for the holidays!

Hugs!
