I Won a Giveaway, A Treasure and My Daughter's Project

Morning!!! I have a lot to show you today. First off, I won a Giveaway from Nancy at Manic for Mosaics. This heart is so very beautiful!!! Thank you so much Nancy! I just love it!

Hanging alone so you can see all it's loveliness!

In it's new home on the shelf in the dining room.

This basket I found at the thrift store for only $1. I have a rooster/chicken thing going on right now! I need to find some more treasures for the top of the fridge. Please excuse the dust!

Next we have my daughter's project. We got her this cute little sewing machine for Christmas last year. This is the first chance she has had to pull it out and try her hand at sewing. This machine has done really nice on all the different fabrics that are in this baby quilt. There is flannel, a soft fluffy duck center, satin and regular cotton. I only have a picture of the center right now. She just started the side strips.

A great starter machine. The only draw back is the reverse lever is manual.

The center of the baby quilt. I will post a photo of the finished project.

Ok, I am off to work on the laundry that piled up while I was resting. That is one thing I really dislike about needing to rest...the laundry piles up!

Hope you are having a great day! Hugs!

Kim

What a lovely heart you won. I love it.

Your little roster is great too. I'm sure you will find more things to go with him asap.

How cute is that sewing machine. Perfect as a first machine to see if she even likes to sew.

Hugs,
Joanne

That Nancy is just so sweet. So glad you are resting and feeling better Kim. That little sewing machine is so cute. I got a new machine a couple of weeks ago and it has 99 different stitches on it not including monograms. I haven't had time to sit and play with it yet. Can't wait. ~ Lynn

Great stuff, Kim. I can't wait to see the finished quilt. I am trying to catch up on blogging tonight. I am so swamped at work right now...worn out! I might have to take a little bloggie break for a few days, we shall see. Hugs to you!

Congratulations on the prize winning! The heart plaque is beautiful and good deal on the chicken!

I had thought about getting a Janome after seeing it mentioned in Somerset Studio magazine, I believe, but couldn't find one around here. Ended up buying a basic sewing machine at Walmart, which I'm ashamed to say I've not even used yet. I've had it several months now. Keep waiting on myself to be in the mood to sit down and spend several hours working with it.

Look forward to seeing the baby blanket progress. Do you have a grandbaby on the way?

Hi again Kim! Thankfully my daughter didn't sign any leases yet!!! I think it would have been easier if she went away to college so I could gradually get used to her being on her own but at least in a dorm with kids her own age!!! Oh well, I'll deal with it! Yes, laundry is something I need to catch up on so off I go! Have a great weekend - talk to you Monday - Jeannette
