Cool Restaurant

This restaurant was highly recommended to us, so we gave it a try. It is so cool inside! I wish I would've taken pictures but I got lost in the moment and history. The building is old and the inside reflects it with the ceiling beams and kind of low ceilings. You need to show up when it opens or the line gets long, sometimes people wait 2 hours to eat here. Let me tell you about the appeal...again I was so lost in the moment I forgot to take pictures (I know, bad blogger). They have a bread which is actually pizza dough that is covered with oil, herbs and parmesan cheese. You eat it the Italian way, pull off chunks and eat...no plates. It was YUMMY! They are famous for their pizza which is made like this, they take a bowl put all the toppings inside the bowl then top it with pizza crust, like a chicken pot pie. Then they bake it and bring it out to you, piping hot! My sister-in-law ordered this and when they bring it out they turn it upside down on your plate and release the crust from the bowl and everything falls on top of the crust. She said it was really good! I had a meatball sandwich which could seriously feed 2! It was huge and it was so good! Even as leftovers it was good. If you're ever in the area, look them up, you're in for a treat! Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder Co. Ok, I just found an image...

This is a small pizza. The pizza on the right is how it looks in the bowl, the one on the left is how it looks after they serve it onto your plate.

Hope you're all having a great day!!!
Hugs!

Yum! I've heard that Chicago has great pizza (and great food in general). The pizza pot pie sounds delicious! A two hour wait ... yikes.

YUM!!! Wish I would have been there!
I was reading about your 'Vacation Club' below...what a great idea! The marathon sounds awesome, too.
Thanks for stopping by while I was on hiatus. You were right...it all goes so fast, but I tried to enjoy every minute. : )
Have a great week,
