A WINNER and a pumpkin update!!!

Morning everyone!!! Sorry this is a day late! I have been having some computer updating issues and we had a busy Saturday! But...before we went to our BBQ...hubby helped me pick a winner!!! (Hubby keeps asking...what is this for???...why are you doing this???...I don't get this blogging thing...LOL...silly hubby!). Anyway, I thought it would be appropriate to have my giveaway drawing in the pumpkin patch by the pink flamingo.
That's hubby holding the drawing bowl...and the winner IS....

Jill at Jill's Junk to Jewels!!!! Congratulations Jill!!!!

I will send you a message about getting your address.

Turning orange now!!!

Now onto the pumpkin update...look how big it's getting! I think pumpkin number 1 is done growing now because it's already turning orange! I was really surprised to see the orange peeking through! Some of the leaves have powdery mildew...so today I will spray them with the fungicide that's safe for vegetables. (DD's boyfriend brought some home for me from the garden center he works at.) There are several pumpkins out there now...I just hope they don't ALL turn orange too early...I know we didn't plant them too early. Hmm...a learning experience for sure.

A little bit of a yo-yo update...my project will be done this week!!! So there will be a photo soon...I think I like my project, hope you do too! I bought some more fabric to make more
yo-yo's for Christmas gifts...I have a couple of ideas floating around. They are addictive to make but oh "sew" easy!!

Well that's all for now! I hope you all are having a blessed and wonderful weekend! Thanks ever so much for stopping by!!! Happy treasure hunting and hugs!!!

Kim

The pumpkin is pretty neat. I've never had a garden... My sister & her family always grow watermelons, tomatoes, peppers & squash. Maybe I should try to grow something. xoxo, Joanna

Hi Kim,
I guess that I didn't give your little pink flamingo enough treats when I tired to bribe her. Darn :) I was reading the April issue of Country Living and they a an article about YO=YO's and what you can do with them. Around a neck collar, on shoes, purse and they showed how to make them.It also says that they we popular in the 20's, 30's,and 40's and were a style of quilting becuse they cuold carry them in their pockets and work on them in their "spare" time. Enough history lesson. See you in blogland. Glad to hear I'm not the only one having problems. Your pumpkin is going to be huge. Warmly, Deb

I love your pumpkin. (Is that ok to say?) hehe. Really I tried growing them with my children but the stinker doggie kept digging up the seeds. Please keep us posted. And Congratulations Jill.

Wow -- look at that punkin already - hoo ha, summer is FLYING by!

LOVE your yoyos! Do you love the yoyo tool? I just got one last week from fabricbliss.com, and the flower shaped one, too. I sure hope it makes those yoyos easier and faster! They're such a good project to have with you all the time for car trips or sitting out on the beach (who minds a lil sand in their yoyos??!)

I love that you visited my blog. Can you believe I just planted my pumpkin seeds two days ago? I planted them in a large planter on my deck. They are not the big pumpkins but the little ones you decorate with. Hopefully they will mature by the end of October. Your yo's yo's. This past weekend when I was at our local little tiny flea market a lady was selling handmade bows for little girl's hair. They were precious. She had made several of them using yo's yo's and vintage buttons. I bought every single one she had and plan to mail them to my sweet Boo this week. ~ Lynn

Congrats to Jill! The flamingo did a FABULOUS job selecting her winning slip of paper! Aren't they great little helpers? :-) Your pumpkins are looking terrific. Do you have your "Punkins for Sale" sign ready? I think it's a money maker! Have a terrific day!

Your pumpkin looks like it is coming along nicely!! I tried growing pumpkins once. We had a hurricane that summer and the garden didn't fair well!

I'm looking forward to see your yo-yo creation. I just keep buying fabric but I don't know what I will do with my yo-yo's. I'm hoping to get some good inspiration.

take care,
Dawn

Your pumpkin is awesome! I didn't realize they turn orange later and not from the get go. Interesting! BTW, I LOVE those pink flamingos of yours. I think they need little straw hats though. Hubby would definitely not understand little straw hats. LOL! Happy Day!

Yay for me! That is so cool! My luck must be changing lately! I've won 2 prizes in 1 month! Maybe I need to recheck my identity, lol!

I just got home from a camping trip, so I'm just finding out about this. I'll be posting about it on my blog as soon as I can.

Thanks so much, Kim for your generosity! And thanks to the flamingo and your hubby, too! Woo Hoo!
