Pumpkin Update

Morning! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! We didn't do too much this weekend which was nice and relaxing. I did take some photos of the pumpkins though. I couldn't believe it when I counted 18 pumpkins!!! All but 3 or 4 are orange already! My hubby is afraid of picking them too soon and I'm worried about not picking them before someone comes and smashes them! That side of our property is pretty dark at night and easy for people to get to. I don't like thinking bad of people but I have seen too many smashed pumpkins around the area every year. So hopefully, my "watch flamingo" will protect them until they are picked by us! :)

The "Watch Flamingo" guarding day and night!

A closer look at a big one...most of them are pretty large!

From another angle of the garden. If you look real close you can see our dog in the very upper right.

Hope you all enjoy the last week of August!!!

Hugs!

Kim

Good morning, Kim. Love the pumpkins. I plan to plant some next year. I giggle at the flamingo. That is top-notch security :) Glad you had a relaxing weekend- mine was crazy but fun. Have a great day!

Morning, Kim! Oh what a beautiful pumpkin! I just love to see a pumpkin patch. Not that I've seen many in my years, but when we traveled to the New England states I saw pumpkins! I do pray your flamingo will fight off any bad boys or girls trying to smash your pretty pumpkins.

Now, the question is, do you have a bottom washing and drying toilet since your hubby makes these? If you do, you'll have to tell me if it works!! LOL
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

What a good little watch flamingo. Looks like he is doing a stellar job at protecting his wards.
The pumpkins are looking mighty fine and remind me that Autumn/Fall isn't to far away.

Love the pumpkins because it always means fall is just around the corner! Are they hard to grow? I have always wanted a small "patch" to call my own! Maybe some day!

Oh Kim, I'm so jealous! We got our pumpkins in really late and all we have are blossoms! I keep telling myself we still have two months, but of course I would love to be able to decorate with them earlier. I am sure the watch flamingos will keep the vandals out of your patch, anybody would be crazy to mess with a watch flamingo:>)

Oh WOW...look at it grow...how much fun it is to see them I am sure....

I too have fibro..and do the same..when ya feel good you go and when ya don't you just rest...and now I have been diagnosed with type 2 diabeties..which is probably why I was so tired all the time...at least with meds I am much better! SO know that you are NOT alone out there with this!

Have a blessed day!

Your pumpkins look great. I am really taken with your "watch" flamingo though! It's so perfect!!! What a shame that there are people (usually young!) who will destroy pumpkins for the sport of it. I hope the flamingo scares them all away!!!!

take care,
Dawn

Your Watch Flamingo is making my Pink Flamingo so happy!! He told me folks need to know that "they" are versatile and are so good at many jobs---yours is proof of that! Your punkins look terrific! It has been so much fun watching them grow! Take good care of yourself! Dana

Kim, Your pumpkins are coming right along! How neat to have your very own pumpkin patch, and instead of a scarecrow, and a flamingo guard! He's cute! :)

Hi Kim,
What beautiful pumpkins they are! Wow, 18 of them, that's great. I would be worried about them too - hopefully The Great Pumpkin is looking after them along with your pink flamingo.
Glad you had a relaxing weekend and thank you for the glimpse that Fall is on it's way - my favorite time of the year ;)

Loverly pumpkins! I'm not sure but I think when the vines start dying back that it's ok to pick them. Of course I have not an idea how to make them last until October. Myself I would put some in the freezer for pumpkin pie and other pumpkin goodies and try to keep the ones to carve in a cool, dry place. How cool that you have so many!

How exciting for you Kim! I love growing pumpkins!! I'm not much of a gardener...but I know mine kept growing into the fall until the vines died. It is worrisome that someone would harm them...but it's also exciting to see how big they will get. I hope your watch flamingo does a good job at protecting them!!
