I've Been Crafting and Thrifting!

Morning!!! It's a beautiful day here! Hope you are all are enjoying beautiful weather too!!!

Well, I've been crafting!!! I am working on a Fall Swap package, yo-yo's of course, and pencil holders. I don't think I've told you guys that my daughter has gotten her first teaching job!!! She is an official teacher! She is working in Detroit at a charter school and the past 3 weeks they have been preparing their rooms and doing lesson plans. The students arrive Tuesday and my daughter has the 7/8 grade science classes. She's very excited and so are we!!! Anyways....she asked me to make some bright colored pencil holders for her room. Here they are...

I had an empty baking powder container and a paint can. I have tons of paper and ribbon, so not a problem!

Here they are all done!

Ready to use!
In my quest to re-do the apartment on the cheap and furnish it the same...I found myself at the Salvation Army again. I love that place! Here's what I found...
A pretty baking dish for only $1.50.

I found 3 of these pretty pale blue mini casseroles which were made in France. I wish I could remember the name. These were brand new with the Made in France stickers on them.
These were $2.99 each.

I couldn't get a very good picture of these canisters. They are a much prettier pink than they look here. They are metal and a great size for the pantry. I love them! They were $2.99 each too.
Well, I am off to finish the laundry and do a bit of shopping. Have a wonderful day!!!
Hugs!
Kim

Hi, Kim! Sorry it's been so long since I stopped by. Life got kind of busy for a while. Love your bargain treasures! Congratulations to your daughter on her teaching job! My youngest finished up her teaching degree, but with their move to Texas this summer for her hubby to go to school wasn't able to get everything done paperwork-wise in time to land a teaching job, although she just got a special education assisting position which she hopes will help get her foot in the door in the school system.

Hope you are feeling well. Will try to catch up.

Love the pencil holders! You always do the prettiest things!
