A Trip to Michael's

Morning! There is no doubt that winter is a coming!! BRRR!!! We had a nasty wicked wind yesterday ushering in the cold bitter air! I didn't see any of the flurries that were called for but they are calling for them again tomorrow morning. Thankfully, it is suppose to warm back up to 60 for the kids to Trick or Treat on Friday.

I am WAY behind on fall decorating. Some of the things I have packed away just aren't my taste now. So, off to Michael's. They had some of their fall things marked 70% off already. Below is a plate pulled out of my cupboard topped with 2 boxes of fall trimmings. They were regularly $7.99 a box and I only paid $2.40 box. Not bad!!! I think is purty!

Even the dog noticed something new according to hubby. He said she walked in the den and stopped in her tracks to sniff out the new decor.
This pearl K, also, from Michael's in the dollar bin. Hung on the hutch door in the den.
Today, I am working on some Christmas gifts and I need to mail Lisa's prize...sorry Lisa! It will soon be on it's way. (Busy weekend...forgot to take it with me when I walked out the door). Tomorrow, I am working on a beautiful project. It has been started but it has had an issue with falling apart (more on that tomorrow or Wednesday).
Have a wonderful day!!! Hugs!
Kim

I love your fall decorations! Michael's are having great scales on everything right now. It's starting to get cold here in Michigan. I hope you have a great day!

Hey Kim!
Glad you were able to snag such bargains at M's. I love that place but boy, could I get myself into some kind of trouble in there, lol.
Hmm, what is this mysterious project?
Have a good one.

Hi Kim! Its very cold and cloudy here today so I'm catching up on cleaning!!(on my 3:00 break!lol) I am stealing that initial in pearls idea!!! I know you won't mind!lol I love Michaels when they have clearance; I've gotten sooo many things there. I really haven't done any fall decorating and at this point I decided I'll think about Christmas! My head is cluttered with ideas. I wish I could do a project from start to finish before I move onto another and end up in total chaos!lol Have a great night - waiting for that project pics! - Til later - Jeannette

Cold? What's that? It was 80 degrees here yesterday! It sure doesn't FEEL like fall so I haven't gotten into the decorating mood. I'll have to look at yours a little bit more to see if it motivates me!

I know what you mean about decorations going out of style or our tastes in them changes. I make and sell decorations from Aug. until Dec.--so sometimes I am so sick of dealing with them that I am not too great about actually getting them out in our own home--unless we are having folks over, and then I make the effort! I think it's an age-thing, too! We haven't had snow, but it's been cool. We finally broke down and turned on the furnace last night--even though my husb. was wanting to hold off. (gas bills) I froze here all day yesterday and said "nuf of that stuff--we're turning that fire on!" It's very pleasant--now! Our weather is also supposed to warm up for the weekend trick or treaters!
Hope you're feeling OK! dana

You crack me up...'falling apart' issues. Don't you hate it when that happens?

One of the nice things about being where we are now, back in Ohio, is that we have a Michael's just a couple miles away. WOO HOO! Haven't been yet, but it's good to know it's nearby -- in Michigan, we weren't near ANYTHING! If you wanted something, you had to mail order. (not that I minded! There just wasn't any instant gratification!)

Can't wait to see your put-back-together project!

It's starting to feel like winter in our part of NY. I heard "flurries" in the forecast and cringed.

Your Michael's finds are fantastic!

You did a nice job on your fall decorating. Tim's idea of fall is skeletons LOL! We have a collection of those right now.

I went to A.C. Moore the other day and bought stuff to decorate for Christmas. It's fun to create isn't it.

take care,
Dawn

I need to write a post about Michael's. It's so hard to stay away from that store... esp. since they are always giving me coupons! :) xoxo, Joanna
