What I Did on My Summer Vacation!!!

Hello! Do you remember...the first week of school and having to write about what you did on your summer vacation? Well here is what I did on my summer vacation! Hubby had 4 days off to be in Michigan!!! We did a lot and I feel like I am still recovering!
The first thing we did on Saturday was picking some of our pumpkins!!! Aren't they cute!?! Yesterday I checked on the pumpkins in the patch and we now have one rotting. How sad!

Later in the day on Saturday we headed to the Detroit Tigers game! There's Magglio Ordonez in the right field!!! Unfortunately they lost but it was still fun! The nachos were sooo good!

On Sunday we went to the apple orchard for cider and donuts. We picked up a 1/2 bushel of Jonathan apples too. Yummy!!! No pictures...sorry...what was I thinking...I forgot to take a picture!

Monday we headed up north to Caseville to visit my parents and to do some treasure hunting! I found a yard sale on my parents street and we headed to the beach for buried treasure!

We found $1.73 buried on the beach along with a pull tab and a rusty. My dad found 3 pennies and a Barbie heart charm. He would have found more but he has the gift of gab and stopped to talk to a neighbor. We had so much fun! Can't wait to go again.

At the yard sale, the lady had everything marked 1/2 off. This isn't a great picture but I found a set of 4 of these snack sets. They are in perfect condition and only cost $5! I really like this rectangular design.

Tuesday we went to lunch and packed hubby back up to leave again. It really was a nice weekend! Now it's time to get things clean and organized around here. That is going a little slow...can't use the water because of a big water main break up the road. So we have to boil water for everything...no fun! But in comparison to Louisiana I am not complaining! I hope all our blogging friends are save and doing well post hurricane! Praying for you all!

So, that's what I did on my summer vacation! Hope you enjoyed yours too!

Hugs!

Kim

I have always wanted a treasure finder ! And the snack trays reminded of when I would go to showers with my g.mother when I was little and we would eat out of them.
Have a blessed day Kim !

Those snack sets are especially pretty ones! I have some of the grape ones (called vintage)......
I've been watching for pumpkins, but none around here just yet!

Your pumpkins look wonderful! Don't you feel like a farmer? Just a little? :-)

Love the pop top ring you uncovered--it's still exciting when the metal detector starts "detecting" something, isn't it? My dad "built" several of them and we spent many a Sun. afternoon "metal detecting".

My friend Patty has that same pattern of luncheon sets. Several years ago she and I and one other friend starting our own little collections of sets--each with our own pattern. Now, when we have a big luncheon or shower, we drag out our luncheon sets and use them! Folks really enjoy that. Now, you get some rest! Dana

Hi Kim!! Wow, you were a busy gal! I love your 'real' pumpkins! They're so perfect! I have so many of those snack sets. I used to buy them all the time and have a bunch. I do use them when I have a ladies thingy at my house.

Thanks for the compliment!

Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Hi Kim,
Your pumpkins look perfect. Can't wait until the stores start to sell them here. Have you grown any white ones? I like to have both orange and white pumpkins. Glad your back and had a nice "summer
Vacation"

Love the $1.73 treasure and that you dad has the gift of gab. That is such a great phrase. My mom has the gift of gab too....she can talk to ANYONE. Great snack sets...I have a gazillion and they are super handy for a shower or cookie party etc. I always get compliments on them.

The deer ate our pumpkin vines and buds! At least you got pumpkins, I'll try again next year. We camp up near Caseville at Port Crescent State park, our favorite camping spot!

I am so mad we didn't plant pumpkins this year! :) Darn it! Yours are wonderful. I am so jealous. I am still wanting a metal detector too! Gosh, I've always wanted to do that.

Hope you are doing well. I've been thinking about you and hope that you are feeling good and all!

I always forget to put the pumkin seeds in the ground, seeing yours makes me more determined than ever to plant next year! I can't believe the treasure you found! That is so fun! I hope you go again and I hope you find something like a fabulous old key or buried trunk!(nothing wrong with dreaming!)

Enjoyed hearing about your weekend, including the treasure hunting. Sounds like you had a lot of fun. We're heading to a football game tomorrow, mainly for me to see my hephew as one of the drum majors.

The pumpkins are quite lovely! Our garden is starting to die back. Still a few tomotoes and some okra.

Love the snack sets! Great buy!
