Morning! I have sad news...last Wednesday our Cocoa passed away. She had been diagnosed with cancer in December and given 6-8 weeks to live but she made it almost 8 months! She fought a good fight with only maybe 7 really sick days over the last 2 months. Tuesday she spent the day running, playing, barking, eating and plain old enjoying life! I won't go into the details of Wednesday but it wasn't good...she passed away at home, which I am happy about. She waited to pass away until my daughter had left to apply for a job and I had gone to get a neighbor to help me. She was the best dog! We are all incredibly sad! We will miss you Cocoa!
In other news...my son is home for a week from Oklahoma! He has lots of plans, of course! He is going to re-mulch for me though! :-) My daughter has an interview at a Detroit charter school on Thursday...she is excited! Hopefully, she will get the job...it would be good experience.
Next week is our 25th wedding anniversary so we have lots of things planned to do in Chicago. I will be taking lots of pics to show you plus before and afters of our apartment...I've been picking up things to make it feel more like home. When we first got the apartment we didn't plan to do much with it because we thought our house would sell and we'd permanently move to Chicago. The economy has made that very difficult so now it's time to make the apartment our home away from home. I love the things I've found and can't wait to see them all in place!
Hope you all are enjoying the last weeks of summer...our pumpkins are almost all orange and the leaves are starting to change here!
Hugs!
Kim

Hi Kim,
I am so sorry to hear about Cocoa.
She was a fighter. Her timing was HER timing. I know she will be missed by all of you. I'm so glad she was feeling her oats on Tuesday.
Enjoy your time with your son. Saying prayers for your daughter.
25 Years-a big WHOO-HOO.
Can't wait to see your pictures.

Oh, Kim,
My most sincere sympathies go out to you. I know how attached we become to our faithful and trusting pets. They give us so much. Know that you will surely be together again in the eternity and Cocoa will be happy to see you again......
Rest in peace, Cocoa.
I"m so very sorry to hear about Cocoa. It's hard to lose our furbabies who come to mean so very much to us. Our comfort can be knowing they had a good life, knew they were well loved by us humans and that they are now frolicking at Rainbow Bridge.
Will you post pics of your apartment. Enjoy the time with your son and sending prayers and positive vibes that your daughter gets the job!

I am so sorry about Cocoa. Our dear pooch died at home also (last year) and it still saddens me, but I find it comforting to know that she was in her special, comfy place when she laid her head down for her final rest. Read the story of The Rainbow Bridge, if you haven't already. You can find it on Google. It is beautiful.
Sorry to her about your dog, Cocoa. Keeping busy should help. Congratulations on your 25th!
Take care,
denise

I clicked on your blog name from Judy's side bar... I am so sorry to hear about your Cocoa. As a huge animal lover, I truly feel for you. How wonderful Cocoa had a great home and was loved so much.
On a positive note, how nice to decorate your apartment - have fun!
Ohhh, I hate to read that you've lost your sweet Cocoa. We lost our Golden Retriever, Chester, to cancer a few years ago. It's so hard to say goodbye when they've been a part of your family for so long. I wish you comfort!

Hi Kim - Eric DID get a job not a week after I requested prayer on my blog! :o)
Hi Kim,
Thank you for coming by and entering my giveaway. The odds are in you favor-hehe.
Also, Thank you for wishing the kids luck on their move. They all love the Monterey area. Jayde and Hailey started school today. Kind of scary for them.
Poor Jeff is a little overwhelmed. He has 5 mid-terms tomorrow. When the Army says "accelerated", I guess they mean it.
Hope all is well with you.
hugs,
Barb
p.s. I've left you a little something at my blog today. :o)
Oh, Kim, I was so sad to read about your little Cocoa. I know how hard it is to lose a beloved fur-friend. I just know, however, that she is running and jumping in heaven and feeling great again. I hope she looks up my dear Buffy Cat who passed away five years ago. I STILL miss him!
L, Dana
